Minutes of E.A.G.M held on Monday 29 th April 2024 at The Town Hall, Malmesbury, at

8.00pm.

Present

Mr. P. Hatherall (Chairman)

Mr. C. Brace (Treasurer)

Mrs. T Rose (Secretary)

Mr. P Exton (Fixture Secretary/Vice Chairman)

The minutes of the A.G.M / E.A.G.M held on Monday 19 th June 2023 were passed as correct

by the members and duly signed by the Chairman. There were matters arising.

GDPR & EDI

The Chairman asked the question as to how the league stood with this. It was raised that we

should not have a male/female column next to players names on the league website,

especially if we want to attract younger players. After a long debate, it was agreed that the

column would be hidden, and players would not have to fill this in on the registration form if

they felt that it was not applicable to them.

The Ladies Cup would still stay, as this is voluntary entry so it would be up to individuals if

they wanted to play.

Registration of current teams for season 2024/2025

The Fixture Secretary said that he had been informed that The Oddbods would not be

registering for the forthcoming season, and if any other team drops out then that would make

a difference to the structure of the divisions.

Upcoming Chairman Vacancy

The Chairman reminded teams that the upcoming A.G.M would be his last meeting, and we

are still looking for a volunteer for this vacancy.

League Website

Jon Ponting stated that the website was going well, with over 18,000 views. He said he was

aware that it’s difficult to view on mobile phones, and if anyone knew of any apps that would

make it easier, then to please let him know.

Any Other Business:

(1) End of Season Trophies – is this the time to change to certificates and/or vouchers to

save time and money for the league?

(2) Meetings – These are usually short, and some members felt it is not worth having so

many, so could this be changed?

(3) Draws for cup games – please can these be made well in advance to give enough

time to organise.

The Fixture Secretary stated that he had been waiting for prior rounds to be played,

and cancelled games were being played on the weeks that are set for the semi-finals

and finals, which was making it difficult as these need to be played on neutral alleys.

The Chairman also added that games could be played with less than 9 players, if

need be, to avoid cancelled games.

There being no other business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 9.10 pm.
